Frequently asked questions
The deck and the six spreads, who the AI specialists are, where the horoscopes come from, what is free and what is a subscription, and which permissions Horae asks for.
Horae is free to download and supported by advertising. Most readings are free, some features can be unlocked by watching a short rewarded ad, and the app may offer an optional subscription billed through Google Play — if it does, the price and what it includes are shown before you confirm anything.
The Rider–Waite–Smith deck — all 78 cards: the 22 Major Arcana and the 56 Minor Arcana across Wands, Cups, Swords and Pentacles.
Six spreads: Card of the Day (one card), Yes or No (one card), Love Tarot and Money Tarot (three cards each), a 3 Cards Spread, and Yearly Tarot, which uses five cards to look at the year ahead.
Chat with Specialist is an automated chat powered by artificial intelligence. The ten specialists are AI-generated characters with personalities of their own, not real people — you are not talking to a human reader, a psychic or a licensed professional, and replies can be inaccurate. You can type your own question or tap a suggested topic; when a reading calls for cards, the specialist asks you to pick three inside the chat. To answer you, your messages are sent to a third-party AI provider, so please do not share sensitive personal information. Access may depend on a free allowance, a rewarded ad or a subscription.
Daily, weekly and monthly horoscope text comes from a third-party horoscope content provider. To fetch it, the app sends only your selected sign and the period you asked for.
A light daily extra for your sign: star ratings for health, wealth, family, love, occupation and married life, plus a best time, a time to be careful, a lucky number and a lucky colour. Like everything in Horae, they are for entertainment and self-reflection, not predictions.
A short read for each of the twelve signs: the history of the constellation, the myths told about it and the legacy it carries today.
Yes. On the result screen you can switch a reading to one of the available reading languages, and you can listen to your Card of the Day interpretation read aloud. Translation uses a Google ML Kit language model that is downloaded the first time you pick a language and then runs on your device; read-aloud uses the text-to-speech engine installed on your phone, so the voices available depend on your device.
Yes. Share Reading turns your result into an image with a QR code that links to the app. The image is made on your phone and only goes where you send it through your share menu.
Your readings, your selected sign, your language and your settings are stored on your device and are not uploaded. Three things do go out: the sign and period sent to fetch a horoscope, the messages you type into Chat with Specialist, and the technical data our advertising, analytics and crash-reporting partners collect. The Privacy Policy sets all of it out.
Notifications are optional and are used for things like daily card reminders. The rest are standard ones — internet and network state, vibration for feedback when you shuffle and pick cards, and the advertising and install-attribution permissions our partner SDKs declare. Horae never asks for your location, camera, contacts or photos. Section 6 of the Privacy Policy lists every permission and why it is there.
If you subscribed, cancel in Google Play: Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. Cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends to avoid the next renewal. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription.
No. Horae is for entertainment and self-reflection. The cards do not predict anything, and nothing in the app — including the AI specialists — is a substitute for medical, financial, legal or psychological advice. The Terms of Service say so in plain language.
